VPride was privileged to attend a policy dialogue which was run by the Pacific Climate Action Network (PICAN) and Vanuatu Climate Action Network (VCAN) on the 28th of June. PICAN and VCAN had intended to organize a series of dialogues and focus group discussions with civil society groups, in particular grassroots-based community-led and focused organizations, networks, including women’s groups, indigenous groups, youth groups, disability groups and other marginalized groups that are often absent within the formal climate spaces.
PICAN had worked with these groups to ascertain what they deem to be priority issues within the Climate Justice space.
The points and issues discussed during this dialogue held importance as it acted as a precursor to the Pacific Climate Justice Summit for 2022.
